On the table for this month’s regional council meeting is a plan to reduce the speed limit on Hwy. 7, between Pine Valley Drive and Jane Street, to  60 km/h, from 70 km/h.

The change came from a request by the City of Vaughan.

On the other hand, Georgina drivers will see the limit on a newly-constructed section of Ravenshoe Road go up.

From Prout Road to 100 metres west of Weir’s Sideroad, the limit is set to climb to 80 km/h from 70 km/h.

The road is being rebuilt as a two-lane arterial with partial paved shoulders.

The final surfacing should be complete early next year.

Regarding eliminated many of the road’s hills.

Trucks are still prohibited from traveling through Udora on the road.
