A Bradford woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by her common-law husband Saturday.

The man and woman were at their Bradford home when he allegedly forced himself on her.

South Simcoe Police were called and arrested the man.

The woman was treated at a hospital.

Police learned during their investigation there was a previous violent incident in the relationship.

A Bradford man, 39, is charged with sexual assault and assault.
