The Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold (MIOTC) program will be offering emergency overnight shelter, meals and clothing banks to the homeless and others in need from Nov. 26 2008 to March 25. Shelters will be operated at various locations in Markham, Vaughan and Thornhill in partnership with seven interfaith communities. The program serves up to 50 people each night for meals and emergency shelter. MIOTC is seeking four Registered Nurses to volunteer one night a week from 7 to 9 p.m. at one of the emergency overnight shelters. Duties include providing basic health care including wound care, foot care, vitamins and nutrition, pain relief, and general health check-ups.
