More cars, more runs on Stouffville tourist train
Whitchurch-Stouffville
September 06, 2008 11:54 PM

The York-Durham Heritage Railway is running on Saturdays and Sundays this fall, starting today and running through Oct. 19,  except for Sept.13.

Trains leave Uxbridge at 10 a.m. and 2:30 pm and Stouffville at noon.

The tourist train runs between Stouffville and Uxbridge.

Fares are $22 for adults; $20 for seniors (65 and older); and $14 for children,  two to 12. Infants under 2, not occupying a seat, travel free. A family pass for two adults and up to three children is $65.

Special events include Grandparents’ Day Sept. 7, the jazz train Sept. 14 and the Teddy Bear run Sept. 20.

As the harvest and fall colour seasons are popular with riders, extra cars have been added to the train to ensure that there are always enough seats.

For information on train times, fares and activities, go to YDHR.ON.CA or call 905-852-3696.
