Man spotted wandering in traffic on Whitchurch-Stouffville/East Gwillimbury border

A 25-year-old Georgina man was killed walking on Davis Drive, the border between Whitchurch-Stouffville and East Gwillimbury, this morning.

York Regional Police received a call at 2:30 a,m. about a man who was spotted wandering in traffic on Davis between Warden Avenue and Kennedy Road, east of Newmarket.

 

A white Honda Civic driven by a 49-year-old woman from East Gwillimbury travelling eastbound hit the man. The driver stopped.

Police officers, travelling behind the Civic, found the man injured and lying on the road. He was  pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis Drive was closed between Warden and Kennedy as investigators worked the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-830-0303 ext. 7704 or Crime Stoppers.

Two other people died in a two-car crash in Richmond Hill last night.
