Wayne Nugent will be on the hot seat in Stouffville Jan. 17.

The 43-year coach and teacher will be roasted during a dinner at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Proceeds will go to Wayne’s Angels, as part of the Terry Fox Foundation, and the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Wayne’s Angels was started this year by two of Mr. Nugent’s grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Baggs.

Mr. Nugent, who has bone marrow cancer, is on new medication and has returned to supply teaching.

The former Stouffville District Secondary School teacher/coach was Whitchurch-Stouffville’s sports person of the year in 2007.
